This here, it’s a watch, they call it the CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Apollo 8 “Dark Side of the Moon”, from the original order, you know. Fancy name for a watch, ain’t it? It’s all black, like the night sky out in the country. Reminds me of looking up at the stars when I was a young’un, ‘cept this one’s got a picture of the moon right on it. Not the whole moon, mind you, just the dark side. Like the part we don’t always see from here on Earth. They say it’s got something to do with them astronauts, them Apollo 8 fellas, who went up there a long time ago.
Now, this ain’t no regular watch you find down at the market. This is a copy, see? But a right good one. They say it’s made just like the real one, from the original order. That means somebody took one of them real expensive ones and copied it, piece by piece. This Apollo 8 watch is a popular one, and it is not cheap. You wouldn’t catch me spending that kind of money on a timepiece, but some folks, they like their fancy things. And this here copy, well, it looks just like the real deal.
They started making these Speedmaster things, oh, back before I can rightly remember. Back in ’66, they called it the 105.012, then they changed the name to 145.012. Fancy numbers! These are the kind them moon men wore. That’s what folks say, anyways. They call ’em “Moon watches”. Can you imagine that? A watch that’s been to the moon! Well, not this one, of course. This one ain’t never left the ground, far as I know. But it looks just like the ones that did. This copy Omega Speedmaster is good quality.
They used these Speedmaster watches all through them early Apollo missions. You know, when they were first figuring out how to get up to that big cheese in the sky. And then, with Apollo 11, that’s when they finally landed on it. Must’ve been something, walking around up there. Wouldn’t catch me doing it, though. Too old for that kind of nonsense now.
This here watch, it’s got a special thing they call the 3869. Don’t ask me what that means, I ain’t no watch expert. But it’s like the 3861, whatever that is. Something about lasers and the moon, like I said. One side’s got the near side of the moon, the part we see, and the other’s got the far side. They say it’s to remember that Apollo 8 mission. 50 years ago, they went up there. Time sure does fly, don’t it?

If you’re into that sort of thing. If you are looking for copy Omega Speedmaster, this one is good. Me, I’m happy with my old watch. It may not have a picture of the moon on it, but it tells the time just fine.
