Alright, so I got this idea to recreate that famous Yves Saint Laurent JUNE BOX BAG. Yeah, the one they call the “YSL JUNE BOX BAG.” Sounds kinda fancy, right? I’ve seen a ton of bags in my time, but this one, it just caught my eye. It’s got that classic look, you know? Reminds me of those old-school bags my grandma used to carry. Sturdy and stylish.
So, I started digging around. Found out that this Yves Saint Laurent guy, he was a big deal back in the day. Made all sorts of fancy stuff, clothes, bags, you name it. This JUNE BOX BAG, though, it’s special. I wanted to see if I could make one myself. A little project, just for kicks.
Getting Started
First thing I did was look up everything I could find about this bag online. There’s a lot of chatter about it, people wanting to buy it, remake it, all that jazz. It made my head spin a bit, not gonna lie. I saw that these YSL bags, they’re all over the place. Even used ones, on sites like Farfetch and whatnot. And they are expensive!
- Scoured the internet for every picture and detail I could find of the JUNE BOX BAG.
- Made a list of all the materials I thought I’d need.
- Sketched out some rough designs, trying to figure out the dimensions and that unique boxy shape.
The Process
Now, I’m no expert, but I’m pretty handy. I got myself some leather, some tools, and started tinkering. It was a lot of trial and error, let me tell you. Cutting the leather, stitching it together, trying to get that perfect box shape, it was quite a challenge. But I kept at it, piece by piece.
- Cut the leather according to my sketches. This was the hardest part, getting those angles just right.
- Stitched the pieces together, bit by bit. My fingers were sore, but I was determined.
- Added the details, like the clasps and the YSL logo. That logo, it’s a whole other story, but I managed to make something that looked pretty close.
The Result
After a good while of work, I finally had something that resembled that fancy YSL JUNE BOX BAG. It wasn’t perfect, mind you, but it was mine. And you know what? It felt pretty darn good to have made it myself. It’s got that same classic vibe, that sturdy feel. I even took it out for a spin, and let me tell you, it turned a few heads. That little project of mine, it actually turned out pretty well!
