Alright, folks, gather ’round, let me tell you about this little project I’ve been workin’ on. So, I got this idea to try and remake one of them fancy bags – you know, the Yves Saint Laurent YSL JUNE BOX BAG. Yeah, that real high-end stuff. I thought, “Why not give it a shot?” Ain’t nothin’ to lose, right?
First thing I did was look up everything I could about this bag. Pictures, descriptions, you name it. I even watched a few videos of folks showin’ off the real deal. Gotta know what you’re up against, you see. This bag, it’s got this diamond-quilted stitching and a shiny CASSANDRE thing on the flap. Looks pretty, but I figured it can’t be all that hard to replicate.
Next, I went out and got myself some materials. Found some nice leather that looked pretty close to the original. Got some thread, needles, and all them other tools you need for sewin’. I even managed to find a little metal piece that looked kinda like that CASSANDRE thing. Close enough, I reckon.
Now came the hard part – actually makin’ the darn thing. I started by cuttin’ out the leather pieces, followin’ the patterns I drew up. Then came the stitchin’. Let me tell you, that diamond-quilted pattern ain’t as easy as it looks! Took me a few tries to get it right, but I eventually got the hang of it. Hand-stitching is a real slow process, you know? But hey, it’s kinda therapeutic, too.
After what felt like forever, I finally finished stitchin’ all the pieces together. Then I added that metal CASSANDRE look-alike to the flap, and voila! My very own YSL JUNE BOX BAG remake was done. It ain’t perfect, mind you. There are a few wonky stitches here and there, and the leather ain’t exactly the same as the real deal. But you know what? I’m pretty darn proud of it.
