Well, folks, I’ve always had a hankering for those fancy designer bags, but they usually cost an arm and a leg, you know? So, I thought, why not try to make one myself? I decided to go with the YSL ENVELOPE BAG because it looks so darn classy. I ain’t no expert in bag making, but I’m pretty handy with tools, so I figured I’d give it a shot.
First, I started looking up everything about this YSL bag. The middle one is about 9.4 inches wide, 6.6 inches high, and 2.3 inches deep. It’s a good size, not too big, not too small. I looked up pictures and jotted down all the measurements and took notes of what the bag looked like from all angles.
Then, I went on a hunt for materials. I needed some good quality leather, but I didn’t want to spend a fortune. I found a local shop that sells leather scraps, and lucky me, they had a big enough piece that was just perfect for the project. It wasn’t too expensive, which was great.
- Got the leather, checked.
- Next, I needed the hardware, like the chain and the YSL logo thingy.
- I found some similar-looking hardware online and ordered it. It took a while to arrive, but it was worth the wait.
Now came the fun part – actually making the bag. I carefully measured and cut the leather according to the dimensions I found. I made sure to double-check everything because you don’t want to mess up with leather.
Sewing the pieces together was tricky. I don’t have one of those fancy sewing machines, so I had to do it all by hand. It took a lot of time and patience, but I eventually got it done. I’m pretty proud of how neat my stitches turned out.
After sewing, I attached the hardware. The chain was easy to put on, but the YSL logo took some fiddling. I wanted it to be perfectly centered, so I spent a good amount of time making sure it was just right. And the magnetic closure had to be strong.
Finally, after many hours of work, my YSL ENVELOPE BAG remake was complete! It’s not exactly like the real one, but it’s pretty darn close. I’m really happy with how it turned out, and I saved a ton of money by making it myself.
I’ve been carrying my homemade bag around for a few weeks now, and I’ve gotten so many compliments on it. People can’t believe I made it myself! It just goes to show that you don’t need to spend a fortune to have nice things. Sometimes, a little bit of elbow grease and creativity can go a long way.
