Hey everyone, it’s been a while! Today, I’m excited to share a project that I’ve been working on recently. As you can tell from the title, it’s a remake of the Yves Saint Laurent YSL LE CARRé SATCHEL BAG. Yeah, that famous one, I saw it all over the internet, and you know, I just fell in love with it.
So, first things first, I started by gathering all the information I could find about this bag. I scoured the web, checked out the official YSL website, and even browsed through some online luxury stores like Breuninger. I mean, when you’re trying to recreate something, especially a luxury item like this, you gotta do your homework, right?
I found out that Yves Saint Laurent, or YSL, is this super famous French luxury fashion house. It was founded way back in 1961 by Yves Saint Laurent and his partner, Pierre Bergé. The guy, Yves Saint Laurent, was a really big deal in the fashion world. It’s kinda cool to know the history behind the brand when you’re into fashion.
After getting a good sense of the bag’s design and the brand’s history, I moved on to the next step – planning. This involved sketching out the design, figuring out the dimensions, and deciding on the materials. It was quite a process, let me tell you. I wanted to get as close to the original as possible, so I was really meticulous about every little detail.
Once the planning was done, I started working on the actual bag. I chose some high-quality leather that I thought matched the original pretty well. Then came the cutting, stitching, and assembling. This part was definitely the most challenging. But you know what? I was really into it. Seeing the bag come together piece by piece was so satisfying.
Finally, after many hours of work, I finished the bag! And I have to say, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It’s not exactly the same as the original, of course, but it definitely captures the essence of the YSL LE CARRé SATCHEL. This whole process was a great learning experience, and it made me appreciate the craftsmanship of these luxury bags even more.
