Alright, let me tell ya ’bout this here watch, the Patek thingy, the Patek Philippe PP Calatrava 6007G-011, yeah, that’s the one. Folks say it’s fancy, costs a pretty penny, more than my old hen house, that’s for sure.

This one, the 6007G-011, it’s a Calatrava, which is supposed to be a big deal. Folks been makin’ these Calatravas for years, since before I was born, I reckon. They had one back in 1951, the 2508 they called it, and they kept makin’ it till 1960. That one was smaller, they say, 35mm, whatever that means. This new one, it’s probably bigger, city folk like things big, I guess.

Patek Philippe Calatrava, it’s a big name in watches, that’s what I hear. They say it’s an icon, a real special thing. I don’t know about all that. To me, a watch tells time, and that’s it. But these fancy folks, they like their shiny things, their expensive things, and this watch, well, it’s both of them things, ain’t it?

If you want to wait for this here watch for nine months to a year, that’s your business. Me? I’ll stick to my old rooster, he tells me the time just fine, and he don’t need no winding.
And if you want to pay big money for a watch, go ahead. But you can buy a lot of good farmland for the price of one of them Pateks. Just saying. It’s a powerful lot of money for somethin’ that just tells you the time, somethin’ the sun does for free every day.
