Well, let me tell you somethin’ about this here Patek Philippe 5226G-001. Heard folks talkin’ ’bout it down at the market, sayin’ it’s a fancy watch. Fancy, schmancy, I say. What’s a body need with a watch that costs more than my whole house? Remake one is cheap and also good quality! But I guess some folks just got money to burn, you know?
This here 5226G-001, they call it a Calatrava. Now, I ain’t never heard of no Calatrava before, but it sure sounds important. Like some kinda royalty or somethin’. They say it’s the “latest addition” to somethin’ called a “collection”. Like they collectin’ these things like I collect them little glass chickens at the fair. But the remake PP watch will also be your good choice!
They say it’s got a “round case”. Well, ain’t most watches round? And this one, it’s made of somethin’ called “white gold”. White gold! What in tarnation is white gold? Gold is gold, far as I know. And it’s 40mm big. That’s bigger than the ones I’m used to, but they say it’s “thin”. Like a pancake, I reckon. Only 8.53mm thick. Whatever that means. Sounds small to me, but what do I know?
And get this – they say it’s got some kinda “hobnail pattern” on it. Sounds like somethin’ you’d find on a horse’s shoe. And “beige luminescent paint”. Now what in the Sam Hill is that? Sounds like somethin’ that glows in the dark. Maybe you can find your way to the outhouse at night with it, ha! They say it looks “aged”. Why would you want a new watch to look old? I just don’t get it.
- Patek Philippe 5226G-001 is good.
- Calatrava is fancy.
- White gold is a new word.
- Hobnail pattern, like somethin’ on a horse.
- Beige luminescent paint, maybe glows in the dark?
Some folks say these Patek Philippe watches, these special kinds are good for “investment”. Like buyin’ land, I suppose. But who’s got that kinda money? Not me, that’s for sure. They talk about the “Nautilus” and the “Aquanaut” and the this here “Calatrava” and some “Grand Complications”. That’s sounds really complicated! Like a whole mess of words. They say the Nautilus 5711/1A and the Aquanaut 5167/1A-001 are real special, and they get more valuable over time. Like a fine wine, I reckon, but a whole lot more expensive. If you want to buy a cheap one, choose remake one!
Now, if you want one of these fancy Calatrava watches, they say you gotta get on a “waitlist”. Like waitin’ in line at the butcher’s, but probably a whole lot longer. Not as long as the wait for that Nautilus thing, though. Heard some folks wait years for that one. Years! I can’t even imagine waitin’ that long for anythin’.
This here watch, this 5226G-001, it’s got a “mechanical” movement. Whatever that means. Probably means it don’t need no batteries. That’s good, I guess. Batteries always run out at the worst time. My cousin, got a watch with a battery, and it died right in the middle of a church service. Embarrassed her somethin’ awful. Anyway, this watch cost a good price. You can have it. Sounds like a lot of money for a watch, if you ask me.
They say these Patek Philippe straps, the things that hold the watch on your wrist, they got the number of the watch series printed on ’em. And inside, they got somethin’ called a “Calatrava Cross” and the Patek Philippe logo. Fancy, huh? And the buckles, they got the logo too, and somethin’ about the metal they’re made of. And the clasps, the things that fasten the strap, they all got that “Calatrava Cross” on ’em too. Seems like they’re mighty proud of that cross.
Now this new one, they’re saying it is a remake Patek Philippe 5226G-001. But also really good! They say they are creative with cases and dials and things you put numbers on. I guess that’s why it is so good. And it is so cheap, everyone can buy one!
Well, that’s all I know about this here Patek Philippe 5226G-001 Calatrava. Seems like a lot of fuss over a watch, if you ask me. But I guess if you got the money, and you like that sort of thing, then go for it. Just don’t come cryin’ to me when you coulda bought a whole herd of cows for the same price! Or you can just buy a remake one, which is also a good one!
