Okay, so, I’ve been wanting this Fendi Mon Tresor Mini Leather & Mesh Bucket Bag for like, forever. It’s super cute, right? But, man, that price tag is a real pain. But I really wanted it, so I started to think about how I could make a similar one myself. I mean, I’m pretty crafty, so why not?
First, I gathered all my materials. I found some red leather scraps from an old project. It has this cool, kind of diagonal embossed pattern on it, it looked pretty close to the Fendi bag, so I thought it would be perfect. I also got some mesh fabric from a local craft store. This mesh is crucial because, you know, the bag has this leather and mesh thing going on.
Then, I started by cutting the leather and mesh into the right shapes. I basically just eyeballed it, using pictures of the Fendi bag as a guide. I cut two circles for the base and the top and two rectangular pieces for the body. Then measured and cut the mesh to fit around the leather parts. It was a bit tricky, but I managed.
- Cut two leather circles for the base.
- Cut leather rectangles for the body.
- Measure and cut mesh to fit around leather.
Next, I sewed the mesh onto the leather. I used my sewing machine for this part, because hand-sewing would have taken forever. I made sure to use a strong thread, because I didn’t want the bag to fall apart. After that, I sewed the body pieces together, forming the bucket shape.
I also made the drawstrings. I used some thin leather cords I had lying around. I threaded them through the top of the bag and added some gold beads to the ends, just like the real Fendi bag. It was looking pretty good, if I do say so myself.
Finishing Touches
For the straps, I was lucky enough to find an old gold chain from a broken necklace. I attached it to the sides of the bag, and it looked awesome. I also added a small leather strap for a shorter handle, just like they say it should have. These small details made all the difference. It took a few days, but I finally finished my Fendi-inspired bag. It’s not a perfect replica, but it’s pretty darn close. And the best part is, I made it myself! And it was way cheaper than buying the real thing. I was so proud of myself. Now I have a cute bucket bag, and I didn’t have to break the bank. It is so good, and I saved a bunch of money.
If you’re thinking about getting a Fendi Mon Tresor, maybe try making one yourself first? It’s a fun project, and you’ll save a ton of money. Plus, you get to brag that you made it yourself. Win-win!
