Alright, so, I got this whole thing going on with a High imitation Rolex No-Date Black Submariner. Now, I’m no watch expert, just your average Joe who likes nice things, you know? But these high imitation Rolexes, they’re everywhere. On the street, on TV, you name it. It’s all about that look, right? People wanna show off, and I guess I got caught up in it too.
First, I started doing some digging online. Forums, articles, the whole nine yards. I wanted to see what these things are all about. And man, there’s a lot of info out there about how to spot a fake Rolex. Seems like the real deal, the Submariner 114060 No Date, starts at around 9 bucks. And the “No-Date” version, it doesn’t have that little date bubble. If it’s got a bubble and it’s supposed to be “No-Date,” it’s a knockoff. Apparently, even the high imitation guys mess this up.
So, armed with this knowledge, I went ahead and got one of these high imitation pieces. I was careful, I did my research, made sure it didn’t have that date bubble. Then, feeling all brave and handy, I decided to open it up. I’d seen some guides online, so I carefully removed the movement, the hands. It was like surgery, but on a watch. I made sure not to make those obvious mistakes that would scream “fake.” I checked the weight, should be around 1.57 inches in diameter, like the real ones.
After I put it all back together, I took it to a watch guy I know. Not to sell it or anything, just to see if I did a good job. I told him straight up it was a high imitation, and asked for his opinion. He looked it over, and you know what? He said it was pretty darn good. Of course, he could tell it wasn’t a real Rolex, but for a high imitation, it was top-notch. Gave me a quotation, but I wasn’t selling. It was more about the experience, the learning.

- It does not have a date bubble.
- The watch guy said it is a high-quality imitation.
Now, I’m not saying go out and buy one of these. My old watch was fine, told the time just as well. But if you’re into this kind of thing, just be careful. Do your homework. These high imitation Rolexes, they’re tricky. But hey, it was a fun little project, and I learned a thing or two about watches. Plus, now I’ve got a story to tell, right?
